Senapati, August 18: In a major anti-drug operation, security forces seized over 3.2 kg of banned WY tablets from a vehicle along National Highway-2 in Senapati district on Monday.

The join security forces intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number WB-06-P-8009 at T. Khullen around 4:30 pm. On thorough checking, 3.242 kg of Amphetamine-based WY tablets were recovered from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Md. Sajid Khan (35), son of Md. Abdul Manal of Moijing, Thoubal, was immediately arrested. The contraband was seized in the presence of an executive magistrate after completing all formalities.

A case has been registered at Senapati Police Station.
