35 acres of illicit poppy cultivation destroyed in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district

IMPHAL, Dec 30: Security forces destroyed 35 acres of illicit poppy cultivation in the hill ranges of Manipur’ Kangpokpi district, a police statement informed on Tuesday.

Police said a combined team of state police, CRPF, forest department officials, and NCB destroyed 35 acres of poppy cultivation in the hill ranges of Langkhong (Saisijang) in Kangpokpi district on Monday.

12 huts, 13 bags of fertilizers, 19 Roundup Herbicides, 16 bags of salt, and equipments including pray pumps, pipes, herbicides which were used in the cultivation were also destroyed and burnt.
