SENAPATI, Feb 26: The 8th General Conference of the Poumai Naga Naotumai Me (PNNM) was inaugurated on Thursday at Senapati District Headquarter under the theme “Ignite Your Sparkle” and will continue till February 28.
The conference was hosted by Joshila Sharma, wife of Th. Radheshyam Singh, MLA of 33-Heirok Assembly Constituency, as the chief host. The inaugural function was graced by Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho as Chief Guest.

The event began with the hoisting of the PNNM Union Flag by Presiding Officer R.B. Pani, followed by the unveiling of the monolith by Chief Guest Losii Dikho, who was accorded a warm traditional welcome to the venue. The inaugural session was moderated by Enoli Regina R and Eli S. Doveinai Sha.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho highlighted the importance of the women’s conference, stating that such platforms provide valuable opportunities to foster unity and preserve tradition and culture. He expressed gratitude to the people for their prayers and support after he resumed office as Deputy CM and that he represents the Naga community rather than any political party.
He also emphasised that the growth and development of families and society largely depend on the contributions of women.
Reflecting on his early years, Dikho spoke about the sacrifices made by his mother, remarking that no one can truly repay the debt owed to one’s parents. Describing her as simple, ambitious and hardworking, he said he had learned important life values from her and credited his achievements to her guidance. He encouraged mothers to nurture their children towards building a better society and appealed to the people to remain united and work collectively for lasting peace in Manipur.

The programme was presided over by R.B. Pani, President of Poumai Naga Union (PNU), while J. Kumo Sha, MLA of 47-Karong Assembly Constituency, served as the Functional President. Former Presidents and Secretaries of PNNM, Poumai ex-MLAs, and representatives of various organisations were also present on the event. The inaugural programme also featured cultural demonstrations and traditional dances as part of the celebration.
