Kathmandu, Oct 1: Nepal’s Prime Minister, K P Sharma Oli, has declared three days of national mourning in response to the tragic loss of hundreds of lives from recent natural disasters. The announcement was made during a press conference on Tuesday in Singhdurbar.
Prime Minister Oli returned to Nepal on Monday after attending the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations (UNGA) in the United States. Immediately upon his return, he held a cabinet meeting to discuss the situation.
During this meeting, the Council of Ministers agreed to provide financial support to the families of the deceased from the floods, with each family receiving Rs 200,000 in relief funds. Additionally, the Prime Minister and other ministers will contribute one month’s salary towards relief efforts.
