SENAPATI, Oct 2: The Special Operation Team of Senapati Police intercepted an autorickshaw during a routine checking and frisking operation at Hengbung along National Highway-2 carrying 210 litres of locally made liquor (DIC). The incident occurred around 1:30 pm on Monday.
The autorickshaw, traveling from Kangpokpi to Senapati, was stopped for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, the police discovered the liquor, valued at Rs. 20,100.
The liquor belongs to Pahriine (29 yrs) w/o Ziisho of Khongdei village, who currently lives in Pouna Colony, Senapati district. The seized liquor, along with the owner, was handed over to the Excise Station after completing the necessary formalities at the Senapati Police Station for further legal action.
