Itanagar, Oct 6: The football turf at the Outdoor Stadium in Jang, Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, has been certified under the “FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf – FIFA Quality” standard, marking a significant achievement for sports infrastructure in the state. This certification is expected to promote the development of football and support young athletes.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, sharing the news on X, said, “This certification is a testament to our dedication to the growth of football in our state.” He highlighted the importance of quality infrastructure in nurturing talent and strengthening the region’s sports culture.
The certification is anticipated to inspire young athletes and further bolster sports enthusiasm in the area. Additionally, Khandu announced the much-awaited second edition of the Tawang Marathon, scheduled for October 24, encouraging runners worldwide to take part in the challenging high-altitude race.
The Tawang Marathon, organized in partnership with the Indian Army and the Arunachal Pradesh government, offers participants the chance to experience the stunning landscapes of the “Land of Mystic Mountains.” The state aims to make this annual event an unforgettable experience for runners from across India.
