SENAPATI, Oct 21: The Zeme Express, a new bus service aimed at enhancing connectivity, has been launched to ply between Senapati and remote areas including Bakie, Bendramai, and Yangkhullen. The initiative comes as a response to the suspension of the MST bus service from Imphal to Tamphung due to the ongoing Meitei-Kuki conflict, leaving villagers without vital transport options. Despite multiple appeals, the government has not resumed the service, prompting the community to launch Zeme Express.
The daily bus service will depart at 12 PM near Pinwood Hotel, Senapati. Fares have been set at Rs. 350 for Bakie, Rs. 330 for Bendramai, and Rs. 320 for Yangkhullen, ensuring affordable transportation for local residents.
This bus service is expected to provide much-needed relief to the people, enabling easier access to Senapati for educational, healthcare, and commercial needs. With this initiative, villagers hope to restore a semblance of normalcy and bridge the transportation gap caused by the conflict.
The launch of Zeme Express reflects the resilience of the people and their determination to meet challenges through collective action, serving as an example of community-driven solutions for the greater good.
