The attack occurred at the Borobekra police station in Jiribam, which served as a relief camp. Reports indicate that the militants killed two civilians and engaged in a fierce gunfight with CRPF personnel, who retaliated and neutralized 11 attackers.

The bodies of the six individuals—including three children who were reportedly abducted by Kuki-Zo-Hmar militants—were later found floating in the Barak river, further highlighting the brutality of the incident.
