The event, organized by the Department of Art and Culture, marks a significant step towards preserving the cultural and historical integrity of the site, which lies within the campus of Manipur University at Canchipur. Expressing his gratitude, CM Biren Singh thanked Assam Rifles authorities for their cooperation and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for facilitating the move. He described the event as historic for the people of Manipur, highlighting the importance of Langthabal Palace as a former summer residence for the Maharaj after Kangla. Singh emphasized that this decision resolved a long-pending demand and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage.

CM Biren Singh also addressed the ongoing search for an individual who went missing from an army camp, calling the incident “very unfortunate.”
