The day’s work centered around three main projects: cleaning the long concrete footpath along the ridge of Abulya at Dziiduri, repairing an unmetalled road connecting Dziiduri to its surrounding ecotourism hotspot and maintaining several spot suitable for events or picnic in the adjacent areas. These areas are home to stunning natural beauty, including several small lakes or water bodies situated atop the hills and rich flora and fauna, which add to the region’s potential as an ecotourism destination.

Dziiduri itself is blessed with breathtaking panoramic views of nearby villages and the low-lying fields, making it an ideal spot for eco-tourism. However, the region’s development has been hindered by infrastructure challenges, particularly the unpaved roads that connect the area to potential tourist sites. By repairing these roads, KYSO aims to enhance accessibility and boost the region’s appeal as an ecotourism destination, while also benefiting local communities economically.

The initiative reflects the commitment of Khumai (Tunggam) youth and elders to preserve, protect and promote their natural heritage. Through collective action, they aim to raise awareness about the ecological wealth of Dziiduri and encourage sustainable tourism practices that will benefit future generations.

The event was a reminder of the power of community-driven efforts in addressing local challenges. The KYSO’s work serves as an inspiring model for other youth organizations in northern Senapati District and beyond, showing that with unity and determination, even the most daunting tasks can be accomplished.
