IMPHAL, Dec 3: A massive search operation has been ongoing since November 25, to locate Laishram Kamalbabu Singh, a 56-year-old man who went missing on the same day. Manipur Police, assisted by the Indian Army, has deployed over 2,000 troops, helicopters, drones, and tracker dogs in the effort. Technical intelligence is also being used to aid in the investigation.

In addition, search and area domination operations have been conducted across vulnerable and fringe areas in the hill and valley districts of Manipur. These efforts have led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

From Phaikhothang Village in Churachandpur District, security forces seized one SLR Rifle with a magazine, one 9mm Pistol, one 12 Bore Single Barrel Gun, fifteen live rounds of ammunition, one Tracer Round, two Tear Smoke Shells (CS), four Rubber Bullets pistols, tear gas shells, and rubber bullets.

In Loibol Khunou, Kangpokpi District, security forces recovered one Sniper, one Modified Lathode Gun, two 9mm Pistols with two magazines, one Single Barrel Breech Loading (SBBL) gun, seven live rounds of ammunition, one Lathode fired case, one Cartridge 38mm Anti-Riot with Rubber Bullet, three Tear Smoke Shells, two Stun devices and one Baofeng Wireless Set.
The search operations underscore the coordinated efforts of security forces to ensure peace and safety in the region while intensifying efforts to trace the missing individual.
