SENAPATI, Dec 3: The Department of Economics at St. Xavier College, Maram Khunou, Senapati, unveiled its first department magazine, ‘The Economists (2023-2024)’, in an eventful ceremony held at the college auditorium today.

The magazine, a blend of articles, poems, quotes, photo essays, paintings, and sketches from students and faculty, reflects diverse talents, making it a great combination of academic and creative contributions.

In his welcoming address, Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. Nepuni William lauded the editorial team for their dedication and encouraged students to remain curious and engaged. Sir Rolland, HoD of the Economics Department, highlighted the department’s achievements, outlined the contents of the magazine, and thanked the college for its constant support, which contributed to bringing this issue to fruition.

Shri Kuba Peter, President of the Naga People’s Organization (NPO), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and officially announced the launch of the magazine. He praised the efforts of the department and emphasized the importance of valuing college life, where various platforms of opportunities are presented. He also spoke about the significance of Catholic institutions, which helped shape him into the person he is today.

The occasion also witnessed the presence of several other special invitees, whose attendance added much warmth to the celebration. Solo singing, dance, and comedy performances from the students brought vibrancy to the event.

The successful release of ‘The Economists’ marks another milestone in the department’s journey towards academic excellence and community engagement.
