On December 4, Assam Rifles personnel at a checkpoint in SL Zougam, Chandel District, intercepted two Bolero vehicles traveling from Moreh to Ukhrul. A thorough search of the vehicles led to the discovery of 2880 bottles of fermented alcoholic beverages, including Apple, Grape, and Honey Lemon flavors, all manufactured in Myanmar. The liquor was packaged in 120 boxes, with an estimated value of Rs 1,73,000. The two vehicles, along with the smuggled goods and the two civilians involved, were handed over to Machi Police for further investigation.

In an earlier operation on December 2, the Assam Rifles apprehended two militants from the PREPAK (RA) near Border Pillar-79 along the Indo-Myanmar Border in Moreh, Tengnoupal District. Acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles troops had set up multiple ambushes along likely infiltration routes. Vigilant personnel at an ambush point detected two individuals attempting to cross the border fence into Indian Territory. The duo was swiftly apprehended and, during questioning, confirmed their affiliation with the PREPAK (RA) group. They were later handed over to Pallel Police Station for further investigation on December 3.
