SENAPATI, Dec 8: The Poumai Naga Union (PNU) has reversed its earlier decision to impose non-cooperation on the NSCN/GPRN, ANSAM, and NWUM. This resolution came after a joint meeting of the PNU Executive with Advisors, Assembly Affairs, and Frontal Organizations – PNM, PNTM, CNU, LNU, and PNC, held on December 6, 2024, at the PNU Office in Senapati.
According to the press release, the meeting deliberated on the matter of the NSCN/GPRN issuing an Indictment Order to PNU officials, which led to the declaration of non-cooperation by PNU with NSCN/GPRN, ANSAM, and NWUM.
The joint meeting seriously considered appeals from several prominent Naga organizations, including Naga Hoho, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), the Global Naga Forum (GNF), the Naga People’s Organization (NPO), senior Naga citizens in Manipur, and the PNU General Assembly held on September 30, 2024, at Purul Atongba under Resolution No. 4, which appealed for the revocation of the non-cooperation movement.
“After careful deliberation, considering the various aspects for the common welfare of Naga society, the meeting decided to revoke the non-cooperation with NSCN/GPRN, ANSAM, and NWUM in the larger interest of Naga society on December 6, 2024,” the press release read.
The PNU highlighted that the revocation aims to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among Naga organizations, strengthening unity within the community. The union reiterated its appeal for collective efforts toward the common good and encouraged all parties to work together for the betterment of the Naga people.
