IMPHAL, Dec 17: Manipur is set to host the 2nd edition of the North East India Film Festival (NEIFF) from February 12-16, 2025, the organising committee announced. The annual festival celebrates the cinematic talent and cultural diversity of the North East region, providing a platform for filmmakers and enthusiasts to come together.
The festival will feature two main sections: Feature Films and Non-Feature Films. Filmmakers from all eight North Eastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura—are invited to submit their entries.
Awards will be presented in categories such as Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Sound. The entry fee is Rs 1,000 for feature films and Rs 500 for non-feature films, both non-refundable.
Following the success of the inaugural NEIFF held earlier this year, the organising committee aims to further promote cultural unity and foster the growth of a vibrant film industry in the North East.
The five-day event is expected to attract filmmakers and film enthusiasts from across India, showcasing exceptional artistic and technical talent from the region. The festival aspires to serve as a beacon of creativity and collaboration in the North East’s film landscape.
