IMPHAL, 28: In two separate operations on January 27, 2025, Security Forces and Manipur Police made significant arrests, targeting individuals involved in militant activities and extortion.

Security Forces arrested Sapam Paikhomba Meitei (26), a cadre of the Kanglei Communist Party (KCP) (Taibangnganba) faction, from Waithou-Thiyam IVR under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal District. During the arrest, security personnel recovered a wireless handset (TYT) and six live rounds of 9mm ammunition from his possession.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police arrested Samom Davidson Meitei, alias Loya (32), an active member of the KCP (MFL) faction, for extorting money from shops in the Singjamei and Thongju areas. The arrest occurred at Thongju Pechulampak Pukhri under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West District. From him, police seized a mobile handset, a wallet containing Rs. 1990 along with a driving license, and a two-wheeler.
