NEW DELHI, Feb 21: Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay praised the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) as a “brainchild” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recognizing it as a testament to Modi’s dedication to nurturing leaders committed to public service. Speaking at the SOUL Leadership Conclave in Delhi on Friday, Tobgay lauded the initiative, emphasizing its importance in developing future leaders.
Tobgay referred to PM Modi as his “mentor and elder brother” and shared his admiration for Modi’s leadership, which has significantly impacted India. He said, “Prime Minister, my elder brother, every time I have the opportunity to meet you, I am inspired to work even harder as a public servant.” He also conveyed warm greetings from the King of Bhutan, whose birth anniversary was being celebrated on the same day. Tobgay expressed his happiness to mark the occasion in India, alongside friends and under the leadership of PM Modi.
In his speech, Tobgay extended his congratulations to the leadership, management, and faculty of SOUL for establishing the institution, underscoring its pivotal role in developing future leaders. “The School of Ultimate Leadership is the brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stands as yet another testament to his unwavering commitment to nurturing authentic leaders and empowering them to serve India,” he said.
Tobgay also shared his eagerness to learn from PM Modi and expressed that he came to the event as a student, looking forward to gaining insights on leadership. “This is an ideal opportunity to learn from the greatest leader in the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In you, Modi Ji, I see the image of an elder brother who always guides and helps me,” he added.
The Bhutanese Prime Minister went on to commend PM Modi for steering India towards progress over the past decade through wisdom, courage, and compassionate leadership. Tobgay highlighted the true essence of leadership, stating, “Leadership is not about titles or positions. It is about vision, courage, and the ability to inspire change. A leader sees what others do not, believes where others doubt, and takes action where others hesitate.” He emphasized that the greatest leaders in history have led revolutions of thought, process, and development, and praised Modi for putting India on a path of progress in just 10 years.
The SOUL Leadership Conclave, inaugurated by PM Modi on Friday at Bharat Mandapam, runs for two days, from February 21 to 22. It serves as a platform for leaders from various fields, including politics, sports, arts, media, spirituality, public policy, business, and the social sector, to share their life journeys and leadership experiences.
