Centre Brings ‘Gunvatta Sankalp’ Initiative in Nagaland to Drive Quality-Led Growth

KOHIMA, Feb 27: In a significant push for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Act East’ policy, the Quality Council of India (QCI), in partnership with the Nagaland government, launched the ‘Gunvatta Sankalp’ initiative in Nagaland. The event aims to foster quality-led growth across key sectors such as healthcare, education, MSMEs, and tourism.

Following successful engagements in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Odisha, the QCI brought the initiative to Nagaland, marking a pivotal moment in the state’s development. The event served as a dynamic platform for senior government officials, industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to engage in discussions and establish partnerships focused on elevating the quality standards in various sectors.

State Tourism and Higher Education Minister, Temjen Imna Along, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “The people of Nagaland can serve as a beacon of quality for the nation. The pursuit of excellence and quality is at the heart of our progress, and Nagaland is committed to partnering in this journey. The aspirations of our common people define the quality of Nagaland – they are the true brand ambassadors of our state.”

QCI Chairperson Jaxay Shah also praised the initiative’s role in empowering states through quality-driven reforms, stating, “Nagaland is a state that values sustainability, entrepreneurship, and excellence – qualities that make it a role model not only for India but for the world. At the Quality Council of India, we firmly believe that Viksit Bharat is not possible without a Viksit Nagaland.”

The ‘Gunvatta Sankalp Nagaland’ event aims to support and amplify the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen quality standards in sectors like healthcare, education, industry, MSMEs, and tourism. Through engaging discussions and shared commitments, the initiative strives to support the government, industries, and local communities in enhancing quality consciousness.

Aligned with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, the initiative also reinforces Nagaland’s journey toward becoming a high-quality, sustainable, and globally competitive state.
