SENAPATI, March 3: Manipur Police arrested four individuals, including two drug traffickers and two active cadres of the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), seizing drugs, arms, and ammunition.
In the first operation, conducted near Upper Kathikho Karong along NH-2 under Senapati Police Station in Senapati district, police arrested two individuals near the KSTC waste dumping area. The arrested persons were identified as Bishwajit Hazarika (46) and Irfan Hague (34). Authorities recovered 20 soap cases suspected to contain brown sugar, weighing 828 grams (including the weight of the soap cases), along with a four-wheeler.

In the second operation, police arrested two active cadres of KCP (PWG) from the hilltop of Ngariyan Hill near Camphor Sungpham, Andro, under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district. The arrested cadres were identified as Yumnam Abung Singh alias Chingakpa (39) and Thangjam Joykumar Singh (52). They were allegedly involved in transporting arms and ammunition and extorting money from the general public, private firms, and government officials.
A significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession, including:
• Two 9mm pistols with two magazines
• Two Chinese-made hand grenades
• Ten 9mm live rounds
• Ten 5.56mm INSAS live rounds
• One INSAS rifle magazine
• One sling bag
