THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, March 6: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, reaffirmed the Union Government’s commitment to the welfare of minority communities and the promotion of inclusive development in the country. He made these remarks on Thursday during the Regional Review Meeting and Training Workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) for the States and Union Territories of the Southern Region, held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Minister Rijiju commended the Kerala government for being proactive in implementing schemes under the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and emphasized the importance of ensuring that these schemes effectively reach their intended beneficiaries. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of central and state agencies in successfully executing welfare programs aimed at uplifting minority communities.
Rijiju highlighted that India is a country where majority and minority communities live in harmony, and assured that all Central government schemes are designed for the benefit of every citizen. Reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” the Union Minister emphasized the government’s ongoing support for vital sectors such as tourism, education, and women’s empowerment.
At the event, Rijiju distributed cheques and sanction letters to the beneficiaries of PMJVK, a centrally sponsored area development program focused on building community infrastructure and improving basic amenities in identified areas. Minister of State George Kurian, Kerala State Minister V. Abdurahiman, and other dignitaries were present during the event.
Rijiju further assured that the government would continue to allocate sufficient funds and resources to ensure the success of these welfare schemes.
