MPHAL, March 7: In a major security operation, central and state police forces in Manipur have successfully dismantled 15 illegal bunkers allegedly constructed by anti-social elements at strategic locations in Kangpokpi district.
Over the past 24 hours, joint teams comprising state police and Assam Rifles personnel carried out operations in three hotspots: Haraothel, K Langnom, and Khengjang. During these operations, authorities recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and a wireless handset.

The operation began at Haraothel village, located under the Leimakhong police station in Kangpokpi district, where the joint security team targeted three bunkers. The forces then moved to K Langnom and Khengjang, successfully dismantling 12 additional bunkers in the region.
During the raids, the team recovered two self-loading rifles, two locally made pumpi guns, 59 12-bore cartridges, a bulletproof helmet, and a wireless handset. These items are believed to have been intended for illicit activities.
