SENAPATI, March 10: The Kuki-Zo Council has announced the immediate lifting of the indefinite shutdown imposed across all Kuki-Zo districts. However, restrictions on district borders will remain in place, preventing the free movement of the Meitei community into Kuki-Zo territories. Only vehicles carrying essential commodities will be allowed to pass through.
According to the Kuki-Zo Council, this decision was made after thorough discussions and consultations with various stakeholders. While the shutdown was initially enforced to highlight the challenges faced by the Kuki-Zo people, the council emphasized the importance of restoring normalcy to enable residents to resume their daily activities.
The council also expressed its deep appreciation to all frontal organizations, student bodies, women’s groups, and stakeholders for their unwavering support during the shutdown.
