IMPHAL, April 1: In a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Tuesay graced the Commemoration of Foundation Days of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The event, organized as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme, highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between Manipur and the three states.
Governor Bhalla, in his address, emphasized the significance of national integration and the crucial role played by central universities in Manipur, such as the Central Agricultural University (CAU) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). These institutions, he noted, attract students from across the country, fostering a cross-cultural exchange that enables students from different states to experience Manipur’s rich heritage.
Encouraging students to serve as cultural ambassadors of Manipur, Governor Bhalla urged them to promote the state’s history and traditions wherever they go. He also underlined the importance of student exchange programs in strengthening inter-state bonds and fostering mutual understanding among diverse communities.
The commemoration was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary P.K. Singh, Secretary to the Governor Sumant Singh, and several senior officials. A major highlight of the event was the cultural performances by students of CAU and IIIT, who showcased the diverse traditions of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha, reinforcing the spirit of unity in diversity.
