CHANDEL, May 7: The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, paid an official visit to the border district of Chandel today to review the law and order situation and assess the district’s administrative and developmental progress.
As part of the visit, the Governor inaugurated the District Library and Information Technology Centre at the district headquarters. Following the inauguration, he chaired a review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where he was briefed extensively on several development initiatives, including various Centrally Sponsored Schemes aimed at uplifting the local population.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner L. Nandakumar Singh and other District Level Officers (DLOs) presented detailed reports on ongoing projects and welfare schemes. Superintendent of Police, Babitarani Swain, also gave an overview of the current security scenario in the district and the steps taken to maintain peace and order.
Governor Bhalla urged officials to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes are effectively delivered to the people, and emphasized the importance of inclusive development. He also interacted with representatives of Civil Society Organisations, listening attentively to their concerns and grievances.
Upon his arrival at the district headquarters, the Governor was warmly received by the Deputy Commissioner, the SP, and other DLOs.
