IMPHAL, May 9: In a powerful display of patriotism and unity, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today organized a ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ in Imphal to express unwavering solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces and to support the ongoing Operation Sindoor.
Led by Congress Legislative Party Leader and former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, alongside MPCC President K. Meghachandra Singh, the march brought together party workers and citizens, all carrying the Indian National Flag as they moved through the streets of Imphal.
Speaking at the event, Okram Ibobi Singh voiced grave concern over the recent violence in Pahelgam, stating, “Inhuman acts have taken place at Pahelgam, where innocent people have been eliminated. The terrorist group Lashkar-e-Toiba has claimed responsibility for this attack. They are operating from within the soil of Pakistan. This kind of war is not against the innocent people of Pakistan, but against the terrorists who threaten our nation. We, the people of India, are fully behind our forces in their fight against these terrorists.”
The rally underscored the collective sentiment of the people of Manipur, standing shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces as they combat terrorism and safeguard national security.
The ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ is part of a larger nationwide campaign launched by the Indian National Congress to mobilize public support for the country’s defense forces and to boost morale during Operation Sindoor. The event in Imphal served not only as a local expression of solidarity but also as a reaffirmation of national unity in the face of external threats.
“We are showing our solidarity to the Indian forces, as advised by the All India Congress Committee,” said Okram Ibobi Singh, emphasizing the importance of national cohesion and collective support during this critical time.
