NEW DELHI, May 13: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the CBSE Class 12th Result 2025 today. Students who appeared for the Class 12 board examinations can now check and download their results from the official websites — cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in.
This year’s results bring encouraging news for many, as 88.39% of students have passed the examination — marking a marginal increase of 0.41 percentage points from last year. The announcement was made by CBSE Examination Controller Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj.
In a continuing trend, girls have once again outperformed boys, with over 91% of them clearing the examination — a margin of 5.94 percentage points over boys. The gender performance gap remains a prominent feature in this year’s results.
Out of 17,04,367 students who had registered for the Class 12 board exams, 16,92,794 appeared, and 14,96,307 passed. The examinations were conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025.
CBSE confirmed that students falling marginally short of the 33% passing mark may be eligible for grace marks under the current evaluation policy.
In a significant academic shift, CBSE has introduced a Relative Grading system starting from the 2024–25 academic session. This model replaces the previous fixed grading scale and assesses students in relation to the performance of their peers. The move is aimed at reducing academic stress and unhealthy competition.
The CBSE Class 10 results are expected to be declared later this afternoon.
