In his address, Jepi Y Chisho, President of NSUD, expressed concern over the growing disconnect between the younger generation of Nagas and the Naga political movement. He stressed the importance of youth understanding the political history of the Naga people in order to carry the movement forward. Chisho further emphasized that the commemoration was not merely symbolic but a deliberate and meaningful initiative aimed at drawing the Naga youth closer to their political roots.

The first thematic speaker, Shelmi Sankhil, offered a thought-provoking reflection on the legacy of the plebiscite and its impact on the formation of tribal and Naga identities. He noted that during the British occupation, various influences shaped these identities and highlighted the need to critically examine historical narratives that inform current understanding of Naga history.

The second thematic speaker, Ningreichon Tungshang, spoke about the significance of having a clear vision in the pursuit of common Naga objectives. She praised the foresight of the Naga ancestors who, despite limited formal education, had a well-defined vision for the future—evident in their unified support for the 1951 Naga Plebiscite. Tungshang also voiced concern over contemporary issues such as addiction and impiety affecting Naga society and urged the community to turn toward Christ for renewal and strength.

The event also featured a musical performance by Awarthanga Chiru, a composer and singer, who presented a song inspired by the Naga struggle for independence, adding a deeply emotional and cultural layer to the commemoration.
