PAOMATA, May 17: A new chapter in financial inclusion and regional development unfolded today as the State Bank of India (SBI) officially inaugurated its Paomata Branch in Senapati district, Manipur. The grand opening ceremony was graced by Mamoni Doley, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, and Shri Dhruba Charan Bal, General Manager, State Bank of India, Network-II, North East Circle.
The event commenced with a traditional welcome by local residents, highlighting the cultural richness of the region. The branch was jointly inaugurated by DC Mamoni Doley and the SBI GM Shri Dhruba Charan Bal, marking a milestone in expanding banking services to remote hill areas of the state.
A felicitation and presentation ceremony followed, with a welcome address delivered by Smt. Nenia Florence, Lead District Manager (LDM), Senapati. A series of speeches by local organizations such as the Paomata Naga Council, Poumai Naga Tsüdoumai Me, Khumai Tunggam Union, and Khumai Tunggam Women Society underscored the significance of the new branch in empowering local communities.
Traditional performances added color and vibrancy to the occasion. DC Mamoni Doley and Shri Dhruba Charan Bal addressed the gathering, reiterating their commitment to bringing inclusive banking solutions to underserved regions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Reikimdar Khaling, SDO/BDO of Paomata.
