KOHIMA, May 23: In a significant academic development, Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak, has been nominated to the Court of Nagaland University by Vice-President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Expressing deep gratitude, Phangnon called the nomination an honour and pledged to work closely with university authorities to strengthen policies and programmes in alignment with the Nagaland University Act, 1989. She emphasized her commitment to improving the university’s academic stature through quality education, forward-thinking policymaking, and inclusive stakeholder engagement.
Phangnon highlighted the institution’s legacy of producing distinguished alumni who have served the nation across diverse sectors such as bureaucracy, governance, and professional spheres. She also underlined the urgent need for regional universities like Nagaland University to match the standards of premier national institutions.
