1,440 Houses Damaged in Senapati Floods, Over 8,900 Affected, Says IRCS Report

SENAPATI, June 4: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Senapati District Branch, has released its Assessment Report on Flood, Inundation, and Landslide in Senapati District, Manipur, covering the period from 30th May to 3rd June, 2025. The report highlights the scale of devastation caused by continuous rainfall that led to widespread flooding and landslides across the district.

On 30th May, 2025, IRCS Senapati Branch volunteers carried out rescue and evacuation operations under heavy rainfall, assisting flood-affected residents and relocating them to safer locations.

Visuals from the district headquarters show flooded homes, roads submerged under water, and debris from landslides, painting a grim picture of the situation. Many affected families have taken refuge in two relief camps, where they are being supported with basic necessities and medical attention.

In the wake of these natural calamities, IRCS Senapati District Branch volunteers have also extended their services to relief camps set up at the District Council (ADC) Relief Centre in Senapati. Relief materials including food, water, and essential supplies were distributed to 175 inmates currently sheltered in the camps.

The IRCS Senapati Branch has been working closely with the district administration, ensuring a round-the-clock presence with the deployment of ambulances and first aid medicines 24×7.
