SENAPATI, June 26: Amid continuous heavy rainfall and rising water levels in rivers and hill streams across the region, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Senapati, has issued a public advisory urging citizens to exercise extreme caution, especially in and around riverbanks and low-lying areas.

The advisory, dated June 25, follows a tragic drowning incident in the Barak River, which has heightened concerns over public safety during the monsoon season. Authorities fear possible breaches in riverbanks and overflow into surrounding areas due to the persistent downpour.
