IMPHAL, July 1: Manipur recorded 8 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the total active cases in the state to 92, according to the latest update from the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP). Out of 43 samples tested in the past 24 hours, 8 returned positive, indicating a daily positivity rate of 18.6%.
Since June 1, 2025, the state has reported a cumulative total of 263 COVID-19 cases. Imphal West continues to report the highest number of infections, followed by Imphal East and Thoubal districts.
Health authorities noted that the majority of current patients are in home isolation. A total of 171 individuals have recovered and been discharged so far, with the recovery count significantly surpassing the number of active cases.
No COVID-19-related deaths have been reported in the ongoing surge. The state health department continues to monitor the situation and encourages residents to remain vigilant and adhere to COVID-appropriate behavior.
