IMPHAL, July 10: Security forces continue to carry out extensive search operations and area domination activities across the fringe and vulnerable areas of various districts in Manipur. These sustained efforts, aimed at maintaining law and order and curbing illegal arms movement, have led to significant recoveries of arms, ammunition, and explosives over the past two days.
On July 9, during an operation in the stretch between Dopkon and Nganukon villages under Phougakchao Ikai Police Station in Bishnupur district, the security personnel recovered a cache that included one .303 Light Machine Gun (LMG), two single barrel guns, one .303 empty magazine, seven live cartridges of 12 bore, and four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing approximately 3.9 kg.

In a separate operation conducted on the same day, another team recovered one AK-56 rifle along with an empty magazine, one .303 rifle with an empty magazine, one double-barrel breach loading (DBBL) gun, ten live rounds of .303 ammunition, and ten live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. This recovery was made from the Uyungmakhong area under Moirang Police Station, also in Bishnupur district.
Earlier, on July 8, security forces operating in the K. Lhangnom area under Gamnom Sapermeina Police Station in Kangpokpi district recovered one Pumpi gun during their ongoing area domination exercise.
