IMPHAL, July 12: Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Manipur Police, apprehended an active cadre of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) near Sekmai in Imphal West district on July 11. The operation, based on specific intelligence inputs, was executed with precision and led to the arrest of the individual suspected of involvement in extortion and facilitating insurgent movements.
This targeted action underscores Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region through proactive and intelligence-led operations. Officials confirmed that the arrested cadre had been actively contributing to underground insurgent activities in the area.

In separate operations, two members of the Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) were nabbed from Umathel in Kakching district, while three active cadres of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-PWG) were arrested from different parts of Imphal West on Thursday. On Friday, two cadres of the proscribed KCP (Taibanganba) faction were also arrested from Phumlou Mamang Leikai in Imphal West and Keibi Khullen village in Imphal East.
