New Delhi, August 2: The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has announced the third edition of its free, fully residential training programme in 3D Animation and Visual Effects (VFX) for youth from the eight northeastern states. The eight-month course, in collaboration with Aptech Limited, will be conducted in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and aims to skill 100 selected candidates for careers in India’s growing digital media industry.
Open to applicants from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, the programme includes six months of classroom instruction followed by two months of on-the-job industry training. Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of June 2025 and should have completed Class 12, or Class 10 with three years of relevant work experience. A nominal registration fee of ₹1,180 is applicable, and the last date to apply is August 15 via skill.nfdcindia.com/Specialproject.
Participants will receive a high-performance laptop, accommodation, meals, and access to learning resources free of cost. Upon successful completion, they will be awarded a joint certificate by NFDC and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET). The initiative is part of NFDC’s efforts to remove financial barriers and empower Northeast youth through skill development in digital arts, animation, and VFX—sectors with significant employment potential both in India and globally.
