Senapati Native Sapunii Sebastian Earns PhD from IIT Guwahati

Senapati, August 27: In a proud moment for the Poumai community, Sapunii Sebastian from Koide Village, Senapati, has successfully defended his PhD thesis at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. His research, titled “Development of Roller Rake Weeder with Special Emphasis on Developing a Novel Mechanism for Intra-row Weeding”, focuses on advancing agricultural engineering.

Currently serving as Manager at Tirth Agro Technology Pvt. Ltd. (Shaktiman), Rajkot, Gujarat, Sebastian has made significant contributions to the field of agricultural engineering. His research has been published in reputed NAAS-rated, Scopus, and SCIE-indexed journals, and he holds two patents, with one already granted.

Recognized for his innovative work, Sebastian is a winner of the National Innovation Contest 2020, supported by the Ministry of Education and AICTE, and has received accolades from Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, BIRAC Regional Innovation Centre, IKP, and Guwahati Biotech Park.
