Imphal, August 28: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today handed over an ambulance to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Senapati District branch, during a brief ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. Representatives of IRCS expressed gratitude, stating that the vehicle would significantly boost emergency healthcare services in the hill district.
Following the handover, the Governor chaired a high-level review meeting on strengthening healthcare delivery across the state. The State Health Mission Society gave detailed presentations on flagship schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), and Manipur Health Services (MHS).

Discussions highlighted financial challenges and the need to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare, especially in remote and marginalized communities. Governor Bhalla urged officials to ensure proper and inclusive implementation of all health schemes, stressing that “no community should be left behind.”
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Secretary to the Governor Sumant Singh, and senior Health Department officers.
