Imphal, September 24: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday lauded the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur for its steady progress as a centre of excellence in science and technology, while urging the institution to further strengthen its focus on research, innovation, and the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Addressing the 12th convocation ceremony of NIT Manipur in Imphal, the Governor congratulated the graduating students and acknowledged the vital role of parents, teachers, and the institute in shaping their achievements.
“NIT Manipur has made steady progress as a centre of excellence in science and technology. The institute must now strengthen its focus on research, innovation, and the vision laid out in the National Education Policy,” Bhalla said.
He encouraged graduates to strike a balance between tradition and innovation, uphold ethics and values, and dedicate themselves to nation-building. The Governor also reminded them that their knowledge and skills must align with the broader mission of achieving a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
As part of the ceremony, Governor Bhalla distributed medals and degrees to outgoing students across various departments.
