Kohima, September 24: Four professors of Nagaland University have earned a place in the world’s top 2% scientists list compiled by Stanford University, USA, marking a significant achievement for the institution.
The faculty members honoured include Prof. Ambrish Singh (Chemistry), Prof. Joginder Singh (Botany), Prof. Prabhakar Sharma (Agricultural Engineering and Technology), and Prof. Pranav Kumar Prabhakar (Biotechnology). Among them, Prof. Singh and Prof. Prabhakar were also named in the exclusive Career-Long Top 2% Scientists category, recognizing their lifelong contributions to global scientific knowledge.
The rankings are based on a composite citation index (c-score) derived from six bibliometric indicators, including total citations, h-index, and citations for first, last, or single-author papers.
Nagaland University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jagadish K Patnaik, felicitated the faculty members, stating, “We are immensely proud of our faculty whose outstanding contributions have brought international recognition to the University. Their achievement will inspire students and researchers to pursue excellence and strengthen our vision of advancing world-class research.”
The recognition underscores Nagaland University’s growing reputation in global academia and research, alongside institutions like IIM Lucknow, which also saw five of its researchers featured in the same list.
