In Manipur, two women from Ngari Raidulomai Village in Senapati district were arrested at Kwakta Terakhongshangbi in Bishnupur district. Identified as T.S. Valleyrose (40) and T.T. Doveine Worthingla (37), they were found in possession of 11 soap cases containing heroin weighing 161 grams, worth about ₹1.83 crore, along with mobile phones and Aadhaar cards.
In another operation at Imphal Airport, two young passengers — Laishram Vikash Singh (20) and Ngangbam Nelson Meitei (19), both from Imphal West district — were detained after 21.420 kg of cannabis was discovered inside their luggage bags. The seized ganja is valued at over ₹20 lakh.

Meanwhile in Assam, Cachar district police intercepted a truck coming from Aizawl on the Silchar-Aizawl By-Pass road late Monday night. A search revealed 30,000 methamphetamine tablets concealed in secret chambers, packed in three black polythene-wrapped packets. The drugs, worth about ₹9 crore, were seized along with the truck.
Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta said preliminary investigation showed the consignment originated in Myanmar and was smuggled through Mizoram. Myanmar’s Chin state is a known hub for narcotics, arms, explosives, and contraband that flow into India through Mizoram’s 210-km unfenced border.
