Imphal, October 3: Security forces in Manipur have arrested four militants belonging to different banned outfits, including the self-styled “commander-in-chief” of the Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA), officials said on Friday.
On October 1, security forces apprehended Paokholen Guite, the CKMA leader from P. Mongjang village in Churachandpur district, during an operation at S. Munuam under Churachandpur police station. Police said Guite was actively involved in trafficking weapons and narcotics across the India–Myanmar border for non-Suspension of Operations (SoO) outfits such as the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), besides running extortion rackets.

From his possession, forces recovered two AK-47 rifles with magazines, 31 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 150 rounds of 7.62 SLR/LMG ammunition, a bulletproof pouch, ₹1 lakh in cash, two mobile phones, and a Hyundai Creta (Regd. No. 24 BH 0676B).
In separate operations, three members of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were also arrested this week. Two were detained from different locations in Imphal West district on Thursday for extorting money from brick kiln owners and the public, while another was picked up from his residence in Yairipok, Thoubal district, for targeting quarry workers.
