Tamenglong, October 15: In a remarkable act of dedication, Ms. Meidinliu, a 51-year-old ASHA worker from Tamenglong district, walked nearly 28 kilometres carrying a vaccine carrier on her back to ensure timely delivery of polio drops to children in her area.
Despite the difficult terrain and lack of proper transport facilities, she made certain that no child was left out during the immunization drive, underscoring the tireless efforts of ASHA workers who serve selflessly in some of the most remote and challenging regions.
Ms. Meidinliu walked for 8 hours across hills to reach Attangkhunou and Attangkhullen villages as part of the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme, delivering essential health services and medicines to ensure that no one was left behind.
