Senapati, October 26: St. Xavier College, Maram Khunou, Senapati was filled with energy and enthusiasm as it hosted the 4th October Fest on Saturday, under the theme “October Odyssey.” The event celebrated creativity, culture, and youth talent through a day of spirited performances and friendly competitions.
The Chief Guest, Shri J. Kumo Sha, Hon’ble MLA of the 47-Karong Assembly Constituency, Government of Manipur graced the occasion and delivered a thought-provoking speech. He reflected on the hardships he faced while pursuing education in his time and encouraged students to recognize the privileges and opportunities they enjoy today. His words inspired many to approach their studies and talents with gratitude and determination.
The formal session included an invocation, welcome song, Principal’s Address, and Cultural Shows, followed by a War Cry and the Chief Guest’s Address. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the College Spiritual Song.
The second session featured a series of lively competitions such as Solo (Western), Dance (Eastern + Western Remix), Folktale, Scene Acting, Acapella, Cosplay, Cultural Show, War Cry, and Traditional Ethnic Show.
Participants came from several colleges across the region, including Mt. Zion College, Karong, Don Bosco College Autonomous Maram, Mount Everest College, Senapati, Mt. Pisgah College, Senapati, and the host institution, St. Xavier College, Senapati.
The event concluded with prize distribution, followed by refreshment that brought together guests, faculty, and students in a warm atmosphere of camaraderie.
The 4th October Fest truly embodied the spirit of October Odyssey—a celebration of culture, creativity, and youthful energy.
