SHILLONG, Oct 30: The iconic Danish pop group AQUA, best known for their global hits “Barbie Girl,” “Doctor Jones,” and “Turn Back Time,” is set to perform at the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival 2025, organisers announced on Wednesday.
The band will be joining an electrifying lineup featuring Norah Fatehi, Diplo, Jason Derulo, and The Script, making this year’s edition one of the most anticipated music festivals in India.
Known for their infectious 90s sound and vibrant stage energy, AQUA’s inclusion adds a nostalgic pop dimension to a festival already renowned for its diverse musical palette spanning pop, electronic, indie, rock, regional, and folk genres.
“This year feels particularly special,” said the organising team. “Our goal has always been to make Shillong the centre of South Asia’s live music scene, and the 2025 lineup reflects that diversity.”
Beyond the star-studded performances, festivalgoers can also experience fashion showcases, art installations, gaming arenas, food stalls, and sustainability zones, all set amid the breathtaking pink blooms that define Shillong each November.
The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival 2025, presented in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya and Meghalaya Tourism, will be held this November in the scenic capital city.
