SENAPATI, Nov 6: Youth Rise For Change (YR4C), a youth-led collective in Senapati has announced plans to hold a peaceful dharna in front of the District Commissioner’s (DC) office, demanding greater transparency in the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects across the state.
The group had earlier issued a 15-day ultimatum to the PHED Department on October 26, seeking detailed disclosures on financial transactions, budget allocations per village, and the overall progress of JJM works. However, YR4C claims that no official response has been received within the stipulated time.
“Corruption cannot be tolerated. We urge the government to act responsibly and make the data public,” a YR4C spokesperson stated. “If our demands continue to be ignored, we will move forward with a peaceful yet determined protest to hold officials accountable.”
The group has formally notified both the District Police and the DC office about the planned demonstration, assuring that the movement will remain non-violent.
“Our fight is against corrupted system, not any individual,” the group emphasised, reiterating its commitment to peaceful civic activism and transparency in governance.
