IMPHAL, Nov 13: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) General Headquarters has appealed to the Governor of Manipur for the immediate reinstatement of two Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) — Jangkhohao Haokip, MES-III, in-charge of ZEO Churachandpur, and Lhingtinneng Singsit, MES-III, in-charge of ZEO Kangpokpi — in accordance with the Manipur High Court’s orders dated May 19 and 20, 2025.

In a formal representation, the KSO expressed serious concern over what it described as a “grave administrative impropriety and disregard for the rule of law.” The body pointed out that despite the High Court’s unequivocal direction to revoke the suspension orders issued on January 12, 2024, the authorities have yet to comply.

According to the KSO, the High Court had quashed the suspension orders and directed that the officers be reinstated upon the expiry of 90 days from the suspension date, as per service rules. The continued non-compliance, it said, “undermines judicial authority and erodes public trust in governance.”

The student organisation urged the Governor’s office to ensure the prompt issuance of posting orders, allowing the two officers to resume duties in their respective districts. It also reaffirmed its commitment to upholding justice and administrative transparency, stressing that implementing the court’s directives would help restore discipline and respect for the rule of law in the state’s administrative machinery.
