SENAPATI, Nov 18: The Cherry Blossom & Flower Festival (Cherry Blossom Unity Run), under the theme – Run in harmony, bloom in unity- held as part of the Sangai Festival celebrations, was successfully conducted today with an impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation from athletes across the region.
The 4th Cherry Run (10km) began early in the morning from the Tadubi Football Ground and concluded at the Flower Festival site (Motu Tobvii), marking another milestone in the event’s growing legacy.

This year’s marathon featured a total of 103 participants, comprising 77 men and 26 women.
Men’s Category Results
Winner: Md. Rahish Khan (Imphal) – 29 mins 42 secs
1st Runner-up: Ringhorsem Muinao (Ukhrul) – 29 mins 54 secs
2nd Runner-up: Daikho Pfokreni (Song Song Village) – 31 mins 31 secs
Major Vijay Singh, Bravo Company, Mao Post, also took part in the marathon to inspire young athletes and completed the race in 44 mins 43 secs, demonstrating commendable spirit and dedication.
Women’s Category Results
Winner: Asiisii Athine (New Makhan) – 41 mins 40 secs
1st Runner-up: Khune Ahrai (Tungam Village) – 43 mins 03 secs
2nd Runner-up: Daihrii Koshune (Makhan Centre) – 45 mins 36 secs
The prizes were presented by Jonah Chawang, Officer-in-Charge, Mao Police Station, and Major Vijay Singh, who congratulated the winners and applauded all participants for their effort and sportsmanship.
The Sangai Festival Cherry Run continues to promote fitness, community spirit, and youth engagement, adding vibrancy to the ongoing festival celebrations.
