IMPHAL, Dec 2: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has appealed to the Governor of Manipur to expedite the release of all pending and current bills for completed contract works in the hill districts, along with schemes, pensions, salaries and honorariums for tribal and Christian government employees before Christmas 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, the TYCM said it had formally submitted a representation to Raj Bhavan, stressing the urgent need for financial disbursements ahead of the festive season. The council noted that Christmas is “the most precious and sacred occasion for Christians,” during which families face essential expenditures tied to celebrations, reflection and spiritual renewal.
The council expressed hope that Christmas 2025 would become a symbol of renewed peace and harmony in Manipur, praying for “lasting peace” in the state. It also urged the Governor to ensure strict law-and-order measures during the festive period to prevent any untoward incidents.
The TYCM said its appeal was made in the larger public interest and on behalf of the Christian community in Manipur, urging Raj Bhavan to take prompt and compassionate action.
