SENAPATI, Dec 5: An Android-based taxi application, Lokaride, was officially launched today during the Rising Day celebration of the Senapati Local Drivers Association at Sadim Pukri. The launch was led by the Association’s President, Ismael.
Lokaride is built on a hybrid model, combining features similar to well-known services such as Uber, Ola, and Rapido. The service is now ready for operation and will serve as the official transport partner for the upcoming Barak Festival 2025.
The app enables passengers to book local taxis at any hour and from any location within the town, ensuring greater comfort and dependability. In addition to standard rides, the platform offers car rental services, courier delivery, and free emergency ride to hospitals in Senapati town.

Speaking to the media, Co-founder Baniohbor Ryntathiang said that Lokaride is not only a taxi service but also a response to various local challenges. He pointed out that the service will support travel during odd hours, ease parking issues, and provide better working conditions for local drivers.
The app also comes with enhanced safety features including an SOS button to report accidents, kidnapping threats or harassment, along with real-time GPS tracking for both drivers and commuters.
Ryntathiang urged the public to embrace the service, saying Lokaride aims to strengthen community convenience and safety while boosting local transport solutions.
