Noney District Gets Its First Fire Sub-Station at Longmai

IMPHAL, Dec 17: Noney district on Wednesday marked a significant step towards strengthening emergency response infrastructure with the inauguration of its first-ever Fire Sub-Station at Longmai Part-5.

The facility was inaugurated and dedicated to the public by Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee and MLA of 54-Nungba Assembly Constituency, Dinganglung Gangmei, in the presence of Director of Fire Service L. Nabachandra Singh and Noney Superintendent of Police Namsadai Peter Pamei.

Addressing the inaugural function, Gangmei described the fire sub-station as a long-cherished demand of the people and lauded the Director of Fire Service as well as the land donor for their efforts and generosity in making the project a reality. He also handed over a mobile handset bearing the emergency contact number 6909014951 to the Officer-in-Charge of the newly established sub-station, Gaikhaongam Palmei.

Highlighting the prevailing situation in Manipur, the HAC Chairman appealed for collective responsibility to restore peace and communal harmony in the state. He urged citizens to remain united in safeguarding Manipur’s territorial integrity, reiterating that the BJP-led government at the Centre is committed to preserving the state’s unity.

Director of Fire Service L. Nabachandra Singh, in his address, expressed gratitude to the people of Noney district for their cooperation and support, noting that the new sub-station would significantly improve fire safety and emergency response in the remote hill district.
